After being slotted No. 2 in the USCHO.com Men’s Division I preseason poll, the Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey team was slotted No. 3 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine men’s preseason poll released Monday.

That poll can be viewed in its entirety here. The Bulldogs finished behind No. 1 Boston College and No. 2 Boston University. UMD picked up seven of the 34 first place votes while BC had 18 and BU received five. No. 7 Providence (3) and No. 8 Minnesota also received first-place votes. Pollsters include coaches, journalists and officers from the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey.

UMD is coming off a 6-1 exhibition victory over Lakehead University on Sunday. The Bulldogs begin the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday against Bemidji State at Amsoil Arena.

UMD women lose points in USCHO poll

The UMD women remain unranked and lost points in this week’s USCHO poll, dropping from five points to two after posting a sweep at Lindenwood two weeks ago and losing twice at No. 2 Boston College last week. UMD is at No. 9 Bemidji State on Friday and Saturday.

Here is my USCHO women’s ballot for Week 1 of the regular season. As a backup voter, my ballot may or may not have been used in polling.
